THE DORCEL x BLEU MODE COLLABORATION
Julien Boudet is not only an artist, he is also a true explorer of vintage culture. Passionate about cult objects from the 1990s, he enjoys repurposing them with finesse to give them a new visual identity, full of charm and originality.
BLEU SHARK was born out of this desire to transform an unexpected object – in this case, a retro shark toy – into a unique, playful and offbeat sex toy.
‘I've always been passionate about vintage, especially the visuals and advertising of the 90s. I'm fascinated by this “pre-Internet” era, and my creativity is fuelled by a meticulous collection of objects that I keep carefully at home and in my studio. I like to identify what I call their “potential for repurposing”.’ It was this approach that led him to collaborate with Dorcel on this product. For Julien, ‘The idea was to take a classic object that is rarely revisited and turn it into a collector's item with a design that is both vintage and resolutely cool.’

About BLEU MODE
Bleu Mode is a creative studio founded by Julien Boudet, a French visual artist from Sète. Trained at the Parsons School of Design in New York, he has developed a unique aesthetic, nourished by the visual culture of the 1990s, French advertising imagery and the Mediterranean influences of his childhood. Since 2013, Bleu Mode has been combining art, photography, art direction and brand strategy through immersive projects and product collaborations. His hybrid and resolutely pop approach has led him to work with brands such as Prada, Lacoste, Nike, Tiffany & Co., Rimowa and Moncler.
